The former Southern Arkansas University rodeo student charged in the theft of five horses will go to trial. Testimony was heard in Jaci Rae Jackson's preliminary hearing Monday in McCurtain County, Oklahoma.
Disturbing details were heard throughout the day, including testimony stating Jackson said, "What do you do with a credit card before you throw it away? Chop it up."
The statement refers to the death of Credit Card, one of the five stolen horses. Recorded conversations detail Jackson's alleged involvement in the horse's slaughter. "Jaci [Jackson] stated that Billy Hamilton
had killed the horse known as Credit Card by shooting it and cutting it's throat. Jaci [Jackson] said that they then quartered it up and scattered it's remains."
Jackson is charged in Oklahoma with animal cruelty, concealing stolen property, and knowingly bringing stolen property into the state. Four of the horses were found in poor condition in rural Oklahoma after they were left tied to trees without food or water.
Jackson will be back in court on June 4.
