A Tennessee gaited horse trainer has been acquitted of sexual abuse. A jury found Dick Peebles not guilty of committing sexual offenses against three female minors.
He was arrested in January after the parents of one of the girls contacted officials and was charged with two counts of sexual battery, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means, and solicitation of a minor.
Rate My Horse PRO briefly spoke with Peebles, however he did not want to make a comment regarding the case. His attorney Clay Parker says he never tries to predict what jurors will do, "I am satisfied with the result as I am sure he [Peebles] is."
We also contacted the Walking Horse Trainers' Association but was unable to reach President Bill Cantrell. The organization suspended Peebles judging license shortly after he was charged. Peebles is a WHTA Celebration Hall of Fame Member.
